The community you’ll be caring for: AdventHealth Hospice Care
Abstracts pertinent information from patient documentation/medical record and instructions provided by referring entities in order to assign accurate ICD-10 codes following appropriate coding guidelines
Seeks additional information as needed from the agency/physician to ensure complete information
Enters information into Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system(s)
Communicates with agency/physician when code assignments are not straightforward or documentation in the record is inadequate, ambiguous, or unclear for coding purposes
Keeps abreast of coding guidelines and reimbursement reporting requirements
Follows the most recent ICD-10 coding guidelines and conventions.
The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:
ICD-10 coding certification; must have one of the following recognized certifications:
Certified Professional Coder (CPC)
Certified Coding Specialist (CCS)
Home Care Coding Specialist – Hospice (HCS-H);
Home Care Coding Specialist – Diagnosis (HCS-D)
Board Certified Home Health Coder (BCHH-C)
At least 1 year of experience in ICD-10 diagnosis coding.
