BayCare is currently in search of a Manager/Technical Director of Molecular Genomics to join our laboratory team. We are looking for somebody who is as passionate as us about providing outstanding patient care and high-quality laboratory results to the community we serve! BayCare Laboratories are accredited by the College of American Pathologists (CAP) which ensures the highest standard of excellence.

We are looking to fill the Manager/Technical Director Molecular Genomics based at the Esoteric Lab in Tampa Florida.

Location: Tampa Florida

Status: Full Time, Exempt: Yes

Shift Hours: 8:00am - 4:30pm

Weekend Work: Occasional

Key Responsibilities:

• Responsible for molecular genomics testing within the Molecular and the Cytogenetics departments. This will include initial set up and clinical validation of new tests, quality review and data interpretation of ongoing tests.
• Responsible for accurate data analysis and will assist with report preparation for next generation sequencing, conventional sequencing, molecular genetics and molecular oncology assays and other assays as needed.
• Works closely with the Medical Director and assigned Pathologists on case clinical analysis and reports.
• Writes and periodically reviews/updates all procedures.
• Follows and maintains accreditation standards (College of American Pathologist, CAP).
• Personnel evaluation and training.
• Troubleshoots technical problems.
• Assists with budget preparation and cost analysis.
• Communicates with physicians and clients.
• Sales and preparation of marketing information.
• Other duties as assigned by the Site Director.
• Molecular and Cytogenetics Supervisors will report to this position.

Required Skills:

Certifications & Licensure:

• Required – Florida Lab Supervisor or Lab Director in Molecular Pathology
• Preferred – ABMGG or Equivalent (Molecular Genomics or Molecular Diagnostics) 

Education:

• Required – Doctorate’s in Related Field

Experience:

• Required – 2 years Next Generation Sequencing
• Preferred – 5 years in Molecular Genetics Laboratory (Clinical Laboratory)
• Preferred – Fellowship completed in Molecular Genomics
