ChristianaCare has an opening for a Surgical Trauma Clinical Nurse Specialist ( CNS - APN) that defines excellence within their practice. Candidate must meet completion of a graduate program; be clinically focused; hold specialty certification and state-defined requirements for board licensure. Prescriptive authority is preferred. This position reports directly to the Vice President of Patient Care Services, Acute Care /Neurosciences/Surgery/Trauma Program.
In this role as a CNS, you will demonstrate advanced clinical knowledge based on in-depth understanding of the pathophysiology of trauma with extensive practical experience in trauma/surgery, critical care, evidence-based practice, collaboration, consultation, education, and mentoring. The CNS's ability to minimize variances in care and prevent adverse outcomes directly support performance improvement.
As the CNS , you are the clinical expert & clinical leader for inpatient surgical areas of nursing practice. In partnership with nursing leadership, this role serves as a change agent for bedside nursing practice; utilizes evidence to develop, teach, guide, and implement practice standards and policies. The Clinical Nurse Specialist collaborates with all members of the health care team to design, implement, and measure safe, cost-effective, evidence-based care strategies and contributes to the advancement of the practice of nursing at the unit, health system, local, state, and/or national and international level. Requirements :
- MSN or DNP preferred
- Graduate from a Clinical Nursing Specialist Program
- APN Certification/Licensure in state of DE
- 3 years' experience in adult acute medicine.
